The Advisory Centres
Employees from other countries require comprehensible information and competent advisory services in order to orient themselves within the German labour market.
The Fair Mobility Project, which was launched in October 2011 by the DGB Executive Board and further project partners, is a response to these needs.
Eleven advisory centres have become operational in Berlin, Dortmund, Erfurt, Frankfurt am Main, Kiel, Mannheim, Munich, Nuremberg, Oldenburg, Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Stuttgart and work in cooperation with local advisory centres.
They offer initial advisory services concerning social and labour laws for mobile workers in all branches which is administered by employees who, in addition to English and German, are proficient in at least one Central or Eastern European language. In addition, each advisory centre has a sector-specific focus.
